The two stars of Paris Saint-Germain blamed each other after the home team’s defeat to Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 on the morning of March 10 (Hanoi time).

Marca revealed PSG players had to separate Neymar and Gianluigi Donnarumma in the dressing room after the two argued bitterly with each other over the circumstances that led to the goal against Real Madrid.

Neymar is said to be the one who started the quarrel. He criticized the Italian goalkeeper for making a mistake in the first goal. In the 61st minute, when PSG were leading 1-0 (total score 2-0 – PV), Donnarumma clumsily handled in the penalty area and then failed to pass when pressured by Karim Benzema. Vinicius Junior then stole the ball and passed it to the French striker to score easily.

When criticized by Neymar, the former AC Milan star is not a medium. He replied that it was Neymar who made the mistake in Real Madrid’s second goal. At that time, PSG was pressing, the Brazilian striker failed to pass the ball, creating an opportunity for Luka Modric to initiate a counter-attack to help Benzema equalize the total score 2-2 (calculated in two matches – PV).

The argument between the two players became so intense that they almost ran into each other. Other teammates at PSG had to rush into the can of the two stars mentioned above to avoid clashes.

The inside of PSG proved unstable after being eliminated by Real Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League this season. The Telegraph reports that the PSG leadership considers the possibility of sacking coach Mauricio Pochettino before the 2021/22 season ends.

In a post-match interview, Pochettino said that PSG’s first goal changed the game. “I don’t understand what VAR did after that situation. When I watched the video again, I saw very clearly that Donnarumma was fouled ,” the PSG captain confirmed. “The referees run the game shamefully.”

PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, was also accused by the match referee team of inappropriate behavior in the stands at the Bernabeu. A report from the UEFA referee team after the match revealed Mr Khelaifi stormed into the referee’s room after the match, cursed and smashed furniture. The Qatari businessman is also accused of threatening to kill a Real Madrid employee.
