Ralf Rangnick doesn’t want Cavani to leave Man United
Uruguay got a ticket to the Qatar World Cup when they won 2-0 against Chile thanks to late goals from Luis Suarez and Federico Valverde. But Cavani was forced to leave the field after just 29 minutes because of an injury.
The 35-year-old reportedly felt pain in his right calf and immediately sat down on the pitch, before being substituted. The Daily Mail page, citing Sport Witness, said it is likely that Cavani will miss at least one match for Manchester United.
Cavani has played just over 600 minutes in the Premier League for the Red Devils this season. Injuries have affected his season and he has missed 19 games across all competitions through injury this season. He has only scored two goals since the start of the season and is likely to leave when his contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of June.
Although Cavani is no longer the number one choice on MU’s attack, his absence will still be detrimental to the Red Devils in the next match, when they face Leicester City to compete for a place in the top 4.
The Red Devils are currently 6th with 50 points. Arsenal ranked 4th with 54 points and played 1 match less than MU. MU will still have to face many difficult opponents from here until the end of the season.
