Abraham: It’s even better when my family loves Arsenal

Despite contributing to the achievement of leading AC Milan’s current Serie A table, Fikayo Tomori was not named by coach Gareth Southgate in the England squad this time around. In an interview with The Guardian, Tomori said:  “There are simply too many talented players available in my position, including [Harry] Maguire, [John] Stones, [Conor] Coady, [Tyrone] Mings and [Ben] White at Arsenal too, there are a limited number of positions.

I just have to make sure I play at a high level. Then when I’m summoned, I need to make sure I’m ready. First and foremost, I have to focus on playing at Milan.”

Tomori was used in Italy after leaving Chelsea.

Tomori opened up the advice to Tammy Abraham on leaving Chelsea to join AS Roma:  “When he said Roma were in talks, I said: ‘Brother, this is a good tournament.’ I feel that Serie A will help Abraham develop his game a lot, this season he has scored many goals for Roma and they are fighting for the Champions League place.

Certainly this time has helped Abraham and also I have certainly given him rave reviews about Serie A, because I enjoyed a lot in my first six months here.”
